When the world was closed, the streets were quiet, and distractions were basically nonexistent. With nowhere to go and nothing competing for our attention; we really got to know each other. Three months in, we decided to test fate (and each other) with a trip to Vancouver. We booked a small condo, packed our bags, and silently acknowledged that this would either go very well… or very badly. Somewhere between beach days, coffee runs, and eating our way through the city, we unknowingly built the foundation of our relationship. In that tiny condo, we learned how we handle travel, decision-making, different routines, and big conversations. We learned that even though we are different in more ways than we are the same, we work. We are opposites in a lot of ways - different energies, different strengths, different perspectives - but we’ve always found our way back to each other. Not because we’re the same, but because we choose each other. What started as “let’s see where this goes” turned into “we can’t imagine this any other way.” We’ll be eloping - just the two of us - and then celebrating with all of our favourite people, and we couldn't be more excited!
