If you didn’t know by now, Carley is a huge fan of Rom-Coms. So much so, that any movie that is not a Rom-Com is automatically excluded as a movie worth watching (unless it has Glenn Powell in it). Well if you have ever seen a Rom-Com, you know one of the standard plots is this… A gal moves to a new city for some new job… She meets a hometown boy who she absolutely despises (foreshadow: acts like she despises)… The guy does a few cute things and the lady visibly begins to warm up to their weirdness & quirky humor… ...and next thing you know, they’re married & dancing in the rain til happily ever after… Well, Carley must have been conditioned through all that viewing of hers because that’s basically the story of her & Eddie (despite the word despising…more so just uninterested). Eddie & Carley met back in 2019 at a mini marathon in Chicago. Before that, Eddie knew of Carley through rumblings & stories from his good pal Adam & Carley’s sister, Alex. Despite them wanting to introduce Carley to all of their friends except Eddie, he remained persistent in his desire to meet this southern Bama cheerleader, Carley. Well, to his surprise, Carley was not all that interested in some northern Wabash football player. Fast forward and it’s 2020, Covid has hit, and Carley is on the hunt for a new job. As if it was written in the stars, Carley landed herself in the beautiful city of Indianapolis in a child life specialist role (helping sick kids as her profession, as if Eddie needed any more reasons to fall for her!) Eddie’s persistence paid off and while Eddie’s words didn’t do the trick to win Carley over, it took her just one sight of his dance moves at his family’s Indy 500 race party for her to fall in love...specifically dancing to Rock Steady by The Whispers with his aunt Mel and aunt Bert! Through many Indy 500 weekends, to visits to Chicago, to runs, trips, Colts games, and a whole lot of other fun, Eddie & Carley came together through a mutual love for their families, football, and District Tap. On December 2, 2023, Eddie got down on one knee and asked Carley to spend the rest of her life with him. (Cue the cheesy tune as they ride off into the sunset while the end credits start to scroll) But their story does not stop there. Eddie & Carley have built a strong and loving relationship and are excited to continue to build a beautiful life full of love and laughter with nothing but the most incredible people around them (ps - that’s you!)
