OUR story began in the bustling halls of The University of Ottawa, where fate intertwined our paths through a mutual friend. Our initial encounters were a series of comically awkward moments, where we unknowingly brushed past each other without a second glance—a comical dance of near-misses that now seems like destiny at play. One fateful day, amidst the chaos of campus life, Jeff being the outgoing person that he is, stopped to chat and introduced himself. Out of sheer goofiness, he mustered the courage to ask for Carla’s number in a way that was both cheesy and endearing—a pun so bad it was actually funny. Intrigued by his confident yet playful demeanor, Carla decided to exchange numbers, initially thinking it could be useful for academic purposes, but little did we know it would blossom into something far deeper. Our first conversations were filled with unexpected humor and shared interests. We quickly found common ground as we got to know each other better, discovering our respective fields of study and playfully debating Jeff’s economic major versus Carla's impression of him as an ‘artsy’ type.

Before long, Jeff asked her on a first date—a movie night followed by a friendly game of pool. Ever the romantic (or so he claimed), he chose a horror film with the sneaky hope of seeing Carla jump into his arms in fear. To his disappointment (and her amusement), the movie turned out to be more hilarious than horrifying, but our connection solidified in those moments of laughter. Our night ended with a mix of excitement and certainty of knowing deep down that this was just the beginning of our journey together, an adventure filled with shared passions, inside jokes, and growing love.

Fast forward four unforgettable years later, Jeff planned the most magical proposal! Thinking it was just a birthday celebration with her best friend, Carla walked into a room transformed into a fairytale—a stunning display of twinkling lights, our favorite song filling the air, and Jeff standing there, beaming with anticipation and a smile that spoke of love and a future together. In that moment, surrounded by memories of our journey and overwhelmed with happiness, we knew we wanted to spend forever with each other.

Since that first date, we have embraced life's adventures hand in hand. We cherish our travels to new places, the laughter-filled nights at comedy clubs, and the comfort of having each other as our rock. With God at the center of our relationship, our love story continues to unfold with each passing day.
