Well actually I will need to back up to end of May 2019, when my parents and I finally arrived to our family's camp in Lincoln, Maine. Our neighbor of 8 years at this point came over to welcome us back and the first thing she said to me was that I needed to meet her grandson this summer. She said he worked on a ship and wasn't going to get home until July. In the meantime, she showed Devin pictures of me and she showed me pictures of him. I didn't think much of it, but decided why not. So July 16th, 2019 comes around and Devin appeased his grandmother by coming over to meet me. I was working for the Town of Lincoln working with the recreational department so I showed up to meeting Devin for the first time after just working the T-Ball event in town so my hair was pure sweat and in a bun and I smell of sunscreen. We ended up having our first meeting be a double date with his grandparents. We exchanged numbers and I was pretty smitten after meeting him and wanted to text him, but my momma said to sit on it and see if he would text me first. Not even 5 minutes later, I get a text from Devin saying he would love to take me to the Ice Caves since I liked to hike. Come to find out a couple years later, Devin doesn't like to hike and just wanted an excuse to hang out with me again. And the rest is history :) Long story short, Devin and I were set up on a blind date by his grandmother and both of us couldn't be more grateful.

Devin and I were planning to have a date night for the first time since he got home from his last hitch. We blared music while we both danced around the house getting ready for our big night. Once we were all dressed and ready to go, Dev says we should go down to the water and take a picture before heading to dinner since there was a pretty sun setting on the mountain. I was not thinking much of it and after we took our selfie Devin said to close my eyes and next thing I know he is on one knee asking "Will you marry me?". Devin even had his friend, Dale, hiding in the woods behind trees and rocks to capture the moment! We are both SO excited to share this next chapter of our lives with y'all! See all of y'all in Millinocket, Maine!
