OUR STORY

12 years down, forever to go.

First sighting? 6th grade. David toting his trumpet case in the middle school hallway—which Jess could see, since she was nearly a foot taller than everyone. First class together? 9th grade; Global History. Our desks were kitty corner and our friendship had begun. First milestone? Junior prom king and queen; May 2014. We danced to All of Me by John Legend. And the firsts have been endless ever since. We attended RIT together, then embarked on what would become a period of five years long-distance. Jess moved to New York City, right before the pandemic, and David later relocated to Rhode Island. Bus and train trips became our norm, but eventually, the goodbyes got very old. David proposed to Jess in August 2024, at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, after misdirecting her throughout NYC all weekend. Jess packed up shortly after and moved to join David in Providence, RI, where we're in our favorite chapter together by far. We're proud of our love story, and grateful for our solid foundation that allowed us to explore careers, cities, and young adulthood as individuals too—hand in hand, no matter the mileage. We can't wait to finally tie the knot in June with all of you! Thank you for being a part of our journey together 🤍🖤

Things To Do

For our out-of-town guests—whether Rochester is new to you, or it’s been a bit, please consider checking out the city, even though our wedding events are a bit out of the way. Here's some local highlights from our hometown (reach out to us if you're curious for more), and a couple if you've never been towards the Buffalo area.

George Eastman Museum

900 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607

The world's oldest photography museum, tucked inside the estate of the founder of Kodak. Beautiful exhibits, film archives, mansion, and gardens to explore. It's one of our favorite date and family activities!

Seneca Park Zoo

2222 Saint Paul Street, Rochester, NY 14621

A place we visited countless times as children and David had his first full-time job. We still like to go when we come home!

The Strong National Museum of Play

1 Manhattan Square Drive, Rochester, NY 14607

Genuinely a blast for kids of all ages (0-99+), this one-of-a-kind museum explores play and imagination, with exhibits ranging from a miniature Wegmans to the National Toy Hall of Fame. You will experience nostalgia, joy, and learning. We went during a "happiest hour" adult night, where they serve drinks while you play!

Whispering Pines Mini Golf

4383 Culver Road, Irondequoit, NY 14622

Technically, the oldest miniature golf course in the U.S.! We went here on our first official date as boyfriend and girlfriend.

Genesee Brew House

25 Cataract Street, Rochester, NY 14605

Home of Rochester's flagship brewery. Explore their two-story establishment with a store and restaurant that offers a wide selection of beers and a tasty pub pretzel. You'll be here just in time for their signature Ruby Red Kolsch to be in-season.

Atlas Eats

2185 North Clinton Avenue, Rochester, NY 14617

A Rochester gem! Open Fridays and Saturdays for brunch and pastries, then a dinner menu that refreshes weekly to entirely different global cuisines. A true Mom & Pop with an inventive concept and delicious food.

Dogtown

691 Monroe Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607

Voted one of the nation's top hot dog spots, Dogtown's highly recommended garbage plates and unique dogs made us regular visitors (especially during college).

Niagara Falls / Cave of the Winds

10 Goat Island Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14303

One of the world's natural wonders and most powerful waterfalls, Niagara Falls offers unforgettable views and up-close experiences. We once explored the landmark on a cold anniversary weekend in February, and enjoyed the majesty of the frozen falls.

Anchor Bar

1047 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14209

If you’re heading to the Falls, it’s worth making the short trip to Buffalo—the birthplace of the chicken wing!
