First sighting? 6th grade. David toting his trumpet case in the middle school hallway—which Jess could see, since she was nearly a foot taller than everyone. First class together? 9th grade; Global History. Our desks were kitty corner and our friendship had begun. First milestone? Junior prom king and queen; May 2014. We danced to All of Me by John Legend. And the firsts have been endless ever since. We attended RIT together, then embarked on what would become a period of five years long-distance. Jess moved to New York City, right before the pandemic, and David later relocated to Rhode Island. Bus and train trips became our norm, but eventually, the goodbyes got very old. David proposed to Jess in August 2024, at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, after misdirecting her throughout NYC all weekend. Jess packed up shortly after and moved to join David in Providence, RI, where we're in our favorite chapter together by far. We're proud of our love story, and grateful for our solid foundation that allowed us to explore careers, cities, and young adulthood as individuals too—hand in hand, no matter the mileage.
