It was a blistering hot Saturday in Bloomington, Indiana. Cam, fresh off a long night at the bars, of course, felt it was appropriate for him and a few close friends to continue the party the next day by heading off to a local winery to sit in the scorching sun and drink wine all afternoon. What's a better way to cure a hangover than by continuing to drink and even further dehydrating yourself, right? Kasey, much more wisely than Cam, spent the afternoon relaxing with her best friend as she prepared for an adventurous Saturday night on the town. She was awaiting her 25th birthday to arrive at midnight, and knew she had to rest up for the long night ahead. The two of them, following very opposite afternoon activities, made their way downtown with hopes of an exciting and eventful night. Cam and Kasey, both at different points in the night, found themselves at the newest lively young bar in town; Kalao. Just after midnight, Cam, who was unsurprisingly spent from a day of drinking, socialization, and dehydration, was left alone by his friend group momentarily on the dance floor as they went to get more drinks. Moments later, he felt a tap on his shoulder from a blissful and energetic blonde, fresh off celebrating the clock striking midnight signifying her birthday. "Do I know you?" Kasey shouted through the deafening blast of club music. "No, I don't think so." Cam muttered softly. Cam did in fact know Kasey, as she worked for Indiana University athletics, which they were both heavily involved in. "Well, it's about time that I do!" Kasey exclaimed. The two exchanged information after engaging in small talk. Cam, noticing his friends motioning for him by the bar told Kasey "I'll be right back!" However, Cam never came back. His friend's desire to leave the bar, accompanied by his exhaustion, led him to exit the bar without any acknowledgment or notification to Kasey. Fortunately, the two were able to reconnect via social media. To this day, they poke fun at the fact that Cam, despite being interested in Kasey, left the bar thinking he was making the most responsible decision for his health. Soon, they would begin frequent communication, and go on their first date just a few weeks later. A date that was filled with Kasey trouncing Cam in darts, Cam frequently talking over Kasey, and even Kasey denying Cam's attempt at a first kiss. Despite this, the two would continue to see each other, go on dates, and attend a variety of IU sporting events. Two short months, almost to the day, after Kasey approached Cam at the bar, they decided to make it official.
