Billy and Callie's story proves that sometimes the best things in life are worth waiting for. The two first met while serving together in the Navy and dated for a few months. When Callie moved back home to Missouri, Billy made the difficult decision to end their relationship because he didn't want to ask either of them to endure long distance. A few years later, during a Christmas and New Year's party, Callie was playing a drinking game where the first person to get someone to answer the phone would win. It was around 2:00 a.m., and Billy had always been known for calling her late at night, so she figured he'd be the perfect person to call. Unfortunately, he didn't answer, and she lost the game. The next morning, Billy returned the call. That one phone call sparked something neither of them expected. What started as catching up quickly turned into hours-long conversations every day. Billy would jokingly ask Callie when she was finally going to come visit him in Georgia. One day, without overthinking it, Callie bought a plane ticket, sent Billy her itinerary, and flew to Georgia.
