It all started a few days before Valentine's Day when Jason, through a dating app, suggested that Caitlyn and him should meet for dessert on the following Tuesday which was Valentine’s Day . When Caitlyn arrived, Jason greeted her with a single rose, and stated, "every girl deserves flowers on Valentine's Day." Their conversation flowed seamlessly, and it was clear they clicked right from the start. As the evening came to a close, Jason shared a sweet confession. He admitted he had initially bought a whole bouquet of roses for Caitlyn but decided to start with just one, worried that the full bouquet might be too much too soon. He revealed the rest of the roses, waiting in the back of his car, and gave them to her. Following a series of dates, some kisses, and an attempt by Caitlyn to put Jason back in the friendzone (luckily, Jason persisted), they officially dated exclusively for six months. When Jason began dental school in Maine at the end of August, they decided to embark on a long-distance relationship for a few more months and then have a long distance engagement. Despite missing each other greatly, Caitlyn and Jason viewed this period as essential for strengthening their relationship. They maintained daily FaceTime calls, scheduled regular Zoom dates, aimed to visit each other monthly, and wholeheartedly supported each other’s personal aspirations. After Caitlyn graduates with her bachelor’s degree at the end of April, she eagerly anticipates marrying Jason and relocating to Maine to start their life together, continue their educational pursuits together, and one day start a family.

One the morning of Christmas Eve, Caitlyn said goodbye to Jason at the airport in California, believing he was headed home to spend Christmas with his family in Utah after spending a few days in California with her extended family. After a comfy drive back to Vegas in her sweatpants and a "Buddy the Elf" t-shirt, Caitlyn was surprised to find Jason waiting in her living room, ring in hand. Caitlyn and Jason are grateful for each other and excited for the journey ahead as we continue to "grow as we go.”
