We met for our first date, and by the end of it she didn't want to do him bodily harm and agreed to meeting again. After a whirlwind relationship getting to know each other through sharing meals, exploring the City, traveling, and most importantly a shared faith in God, we found ourselves growing closer with each passing day. Our connection deepened as we navigated life's ups and downs together, supporting and encouraging each other. Through laughter, challenges, and adventures, we discovered the joy of building a life together, grounded in faith, love, trust, and a shared vision for the future.
Bryce's goal was to surprise Maha with the ring and proposal, this was made difficult due to her expecting a proposal every time they went out to dinner, he cooked for her, or going to a play (especially one about a famous author and an infamous ring). So, Bryce went to work, setting up a fake dinner where they had their first date and made a point of telling her that he was definitely NOT proposing during it.... leading her to the unmistakable conclusion that he was. His false trail successfully laid, he reached out to a friend to provide tickets to a Harry Potter themed escape room that "they unfortunately could not make and if we would please take their spot" (adding to this being spur of the moment...instead of the multiple months he spent planning this surprise) Working with the escape room staff, Bryce hid a blue ring pop (her favorite flavor, and a running joke of using that instead of a proper ring) hidden behind the final book at the end of the escape room, all was set and ready to go. This particular Thursday it was threatening snow...Maha hates the snow, she hates being in it, she hates the wet cold of it...and most of all, she hates driving in it. Forecast is that it is just going to get worse...she calls Bryce. Maha - "it's going to snow" Bryce - "...no it's not" Maha - "is it sticking there?" Bryce - "no, it's not" She arrives at the venue Maha - "It's sticking all over the parking lot!!" Bryce - "no it's not...that's old snow" Maha - "we should cancel" Bryce - "...no we shouldn't" This goes on for some time, Bryce finally convinces her to stay and do the escape room with him, saying that they will let us know if the snow gets bad They get the introduction by the 19-year-old moderator for the room, and start working the puzzles, it's a creative and interesting room designed to make you think and work out different hidden solutions that open up new areas. Luckily Maha had a particularly hard day at work, so she was distracted enough to not notice how distracted Bryce was. She gets to the final book, and removes it from the case, showing the ring pop stuck behind it...and she pauses, wondering "what is this?" slowly it dawns on her that it's a ring pop, her favorite flavor, a smile crosses her face as she turns to him. Finding Bryce down on one knee, with the ring in his hand, where he asks, "will you marry me?" ...the smile slips from her face, she looks confused (the door opens behind Bryce, unbeknownst to him), and the 19-year-old moderator is standing there.... awkwardly watching Maha and Bryce's back) Maha: "...did you plan this?" Bryce: "yes" Maha: "does he know we're back here?" Bryce: (nervously) "...yes" Maha: "are we allowed to be back here still?" Bryce: (more nervously yet) "could you please answer my original question?" Maha: "yes!"
