Travel

We are fortunate to have most of our family staying with us on the property. We truly wish it was big enough to accomodate all of our loved ones, but for those who aren't staying at the ranch or wish to stay elsewhere, some suggestions are listed below. Saguaro Lake Ranch is located in the Tonto National Forest and therefore somewhat secluded. I suggest looking at Airbnb and VRBO in the Fountain Hills, Scottsdale, and Mesa areas. If a hotel is more your style, here are some options:

Hotel

We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort

10438 Wekopa Way, Fort McDowell, AZ 85264
 (480) 789-5300

If gambling is your thing, this has your name on it. 20 mins from the ranch.

Hotel

Fountain Park Hotel

12800 North Saguaro Boulevard, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268
 480-837-6565

Located right next to the huge water fountain from the town's namesake. Easy, breakfast included place. Park proximity could be good if you have kiddos coming with. 25 mins from the ranch.

Hotel

ADERO Scottsdale Resort, Autograph Collection

13225 North Eagle Ridge Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85268
 (480) 333-1900

Beautiful resort that has it all! Two pools, spa treatments, golfing, you name it. If you want a luxury getaway, this one's for you! 28 mins from the ranch.

Things To Do

Horseback Trail Ride

13050 N Bush Highway, Mesa, AZ 85215
, (480) 984-0335

1 and 1.5 hour scenic trail ride along the Salt River and Bulldog Cliffs. Minimum riding age is 7 years old. $75 a person. Book in advance to reserve a spot through their website.

Kayaking the Salt River

13020 N Bush Hwy, Mesa, AZ 85215
, (480) 984-2194

We've done this many times and it never gets old! It is always so beautiful and such a blast! 99% chance you will see wild horses eating reeds out of the river. 2.5 hour unguided paddle. You rent the kayaks or paddle boards from Saguaro Lake Ranch and after a brief orientation, you launch and they meet you at the bottom to shuttle you back when finished. Minimum age is 12 years old. $51-57 per person.
