Question

Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

Our wedding will take place in Cancun, Mexico. All events will be held at our resort. Exact location details are listed on the Travel page.

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving by the afternoon of April 22nd so you can join the welcome dinner that evening.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The wedding attire is Beach Semi-Formal. Think elevated beach style: -Flowing dresses, midi/maxi dresses -Linen shirts or button-downs -Lightweight slacks or dress shorts -Sandals, wedges, loafers, heels Avoid heavy suits or overly casual beachwear.

Question

Do I need to stay at the wedding resort?

Answer

While you are welcome to stay anywhere, we highly recommend staying at the resort where the events are taking place so you can easily participate in all the celebrations.

Question

How do I get transportation from the airport to the resort?

Answer

We recommend booking transportation through the "Palace Resorts" app. Please download the app in advance and arrange your ride from Cancun International Airport (CUN) to the resort (Moon Palace Cancun - Sunrise) before arriving. Booking early helps avoid long waits at the airport. We’ve been informed that the resort app may show a charge for airport transportation. However, transportation is included with your stay — it just needs to be scheduled directly. If you are seeing a charge when you try to book your transportation, please contact the resort transportation team to arrange your airport transfers: Email: transfercancun@palaceresorts.com Phone: +52 998-193-1996 Hours: 7:00 AM – 6:45 PM (Cancun local time) This ensures your complimentary transportation to and from the resort is properly scheduled.

Question

How do I make restaurant reservations at the resort?

Answer

Dinner reservations can fill up quickly. We recommend downloading the resort’s app before your trip so you can: -Book restaurant reservations -Book spa reservations -Schedule activities -Arrange transportation Reservations usually open shortly before arrival, so check the app regularly.

Question

Is the Catamaran Tour optional?

Answer

Yes! The Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres on April 24 is optional but highly recommended. It will be a fun way for everyone to spend time together the day after the wedding. You only pay the $20 docking fee, the Catamaran has already been paid for. Details and sign-up information will be shared closer to the wedding date.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Due to venue capacity, only guests listed on your invitation are included. If your invitation included a plus-one, they are absolutely welcome.

Question

Do you have a wedding registry?

Answer

If you are joining us in Cancun, your presence is truly the greatest gift and we kindly ask that no additional gifts are given. Celebrating together is more than enough for us. For those who are unable to attend but have expressed interest in sending something, we will have a small registry available for your convenience.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

April in Cancun is typically warm and sunny with temperatures around 75–85°F. We recommend bringing sunscreen, light clothing, and comfortable shoes.

Question

What currency should I bring?

Answer

Most places accept credit cards and US dollars, but it can be helpful to have some Mexican pesos for tips and small purchases.

Question

Who should I contact if I have questions?

Answer

If you have general questions before the trip, feel free to reach out to Johni, our Maid of Honor. 806-338-0627 On the wedding day, please direct any questions to Johni rather than the bride so the bride can stay present and enjoy the day. She’ll be the point person for timing, logistics, and anything that comes up.

Question

What essentials should I pack?

Answer

Here are a few things we recommend bringing for a smooth trip to Cancun: • Passport • Sunscreen (reef-safe if possible) • Swimsuits • Light, breathable clothing • Comfortable sandals or walking shoes • Dressy beach attire for the wedding • Sunglasses and a hat • Portable phone charger • Any medications you may need • Small bills for tipping • A light sweater or shawl for evenings Pro tip: bring an extra swimsuit, plenty of sunscreen, and a hat that provides shade — you’ll likely be in the sun and water most of the trip!

Question

What is the tipping etiquette in Mexico?

Answer

Tipping is customary and appreciated in Mexico. While many resorts include gratuities, it’s still common to tip staff for great service. Typical tips: • Bartenders: $1–$2 per drink • Restaurant servers: $3–$5 per meal • Housekeeping: $2–$5 per day • Bellhops: $1–$2 per bag • Drivers or excursion staff: $5–$10 depending on the service Small US bills are widely accepted and very helpful to bring.

Question

Do I need to go through customs when arriving in Cancun?

Answer

Yes. After landing at Cancun International Airport you will go through immigration and customs before exiting the airport. Once you pass customs, you’ll enter an area where many transportation companies and vendors may approach you. We recommend heading directly to your pre-arranged transportation pickup to avoid confusion.

Question

Is it safe to drink the water in Cancun?

Answer

It’s best to stick with bottled or filtered water while in Mexico. Resorts typically provide filtered water and bottled water in rooms and restaurants. Ice at resorts is usually filtered and safe, but bottled water is always the safest choice.

Question

Is it safe to travel to Cancun right now?

Answer

We understand some guests may have questions about safety in Mexico following recent news about unrest in Puerto Vallarta. The situation reported in the news occurred primarily in Puerto Vallarta and the state of Jalisco, which is on Mexico’s Pacific coast and geographically far from Cancun on the Yucatán Peninsula. Cancun is located in the state of Quintana Roo, a separate region focused heavily on tourism. At this time, Cancun and other major resort destinations on the Caribbean side of Mexico have not experienced significant disruptions related to these events. Like many international destinations, Mexico is monitored with travel advisories. The current advisory level for the Cancun region is Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution, which is the same level assigned to many popular European destinations. We will continue to monitor official travel guidance as the wedding approaches. If anything changes, we will communicate updates to guests. If you would like to stay informed, we recommend checking travel updates from: • The U.S. Department of State • Your airline • Your local government’s travel advisories Your safety and comfort are important to us, and we look forward to celebrating together in Cancun.

Registry

We'll post our registry here when we're finished building it. Thank you in advance!
