Please note, lodging on the island is very limited, and all cabins have been assigned For additional accommodations, we recommend booking under our room block at Tagalong Resort, which is only a short drive away from the ferry launch site! FAQs

Question

Where do I park my car?

Answer

The address for the lot you will leave your vehicle in is, 2799 27th Street, Birchwood, WI 54817. This address will bring you to the parking lot which adjoins a gravel path that will lead you to our Shore House waiting area and dock. The ferry will pick you up at this dock. We suggest entering "Stout’s Island Lodge" into your GPS device as a location instead of the address. Thank you!

Question

How does the ferry work?

Answer

The Stout’s Island ferry leaves the island for the shore 10 minutes to the hour. The ferry arrives at the Shore House Dock on the hour and then returns to the Island. Ferry Hours: 7:50 AM – 10 PM daily. On the Wedding day, the ferry will be operating later to accommodate guests who are staying off the island. The ferries can hold a maximum of 10 passengers. We have both a covered pontoon and an uncovered pontoon which we use alternately or in conjunction as appropriate with conditions. Our ferry is for passengers only; no vehicles are allowed on the ferry or on the island.

Question

What about meals?

Answer

Stout’s Island is a unique and charming venue — part rustic retreat, part lakefront adventure. While we’ll be providing happy hour and dinner on the wedding day (Thursday), guests will be responsible for their own meals at other times during the week. Here’s what to know: Stout’s Island Lodge has a full-service restaurant with breakfast, lunch, and dinner available for purchase. For those staying on the island, all rooms have a mini fridge and coffee maker. Room rates also include continental breakfast! For off-island adventures, there are great restaurants in nearby Birchwood.

Question

Can we bring our own drinks?

Answer

You’re more than welcome to bring any non-alcoholic beverages you’d like — think caffeine, sparkling water, juices, sodas, or anything to keep you refreshed during your stay. However, Stout’s Island has a strict no outside alcohol policy (per their licensing). Here’s how it works: We’ll be providing a limited selection of alcoholic beverages during the wedding festivities. If you’d like additional beer, wine, or cocktails during your stay, those can be purchased from the island’s bar (CARD ONLY, so please plan accordingly!). If you choose to bring outside Alcohol, the venue may ask you to leave the island if you are caught with any Alcohol not purchased on the island. Thanks for understanding!

Question

What is the Dress code?

Answer

Black Tie Optional! What does this mean? We’re dreaming of a formal, elegant evening — but we want you to feel comfortable and confident. For Women: We encourage floor-length gowns or formal cocktail dresses. For Men: A suit and tie is perfect — no tuxedo required (unless you want to!).

Question

Can I attend the wedding if I only plan to stay 1 of the nights?

Answer

Yes, absolutely! Although we would love for all of our guests to join us Wednesday through Friday, we understand that your schedule may not allow for this. Please come celebrate with us for as much time as you are able!

Question

I don't want to stay on the island, can I still hang out on the Island outside of the wedding festivities?

Answer

Absolutely! The island will be for all of our wedding guests, whether they are choosing to stay there or elsewhere.

Question

How many people stay in each cabin?

Answer

Anywhere from 4-8 people!
