Our StoryOur Story

Together through every mile, every storm and every step forward

As many modern love stories, ours started on Hinge. At the time, Tom was living in San Diego and Britawnya was in Long Beach. We were messaging back and forth and decided our first date should be a stand-up comedy show. As we started sending each other comedians we liked, something was off, Britawnya’s comedians looked amazing and while Tom’s options were, well… questionable. That’s when we realized we were looking at two completely different Comedy Stores locations. Britawnya was browsing shows in Los Angeles, while Tom was looking at shows in San Diego. Up until that moment, we hadn’t realized we were 97 miles apart. Which meant if either of us had lived just a few miles further away, there was a very real chance we never would have met. So instead of canceling the date, we decided to meet halfway in San Clemente. From the very beginning everything just felt simple and flowed. Before long we were spending every weekend together, happily making the drive to see each other. Not long into our relationship, life threw us an unexpected curveball. It was a moment that could have changed everything but instead it showed us exactly who we were to each other. Through it all, we stood together with patience, strength, and unwavering support. What started as two people willing to drive 97 miles for a first date quickly became something much deeper; a partnership built on love, resilience, and choosing each other every single day. And through every mile, every challenge, and every adventure ahead, we know one thing for sure: We were always meant to meet halfway.

Our CeremonyOur Ceremony

3:30 pm - 9:30 pm

What to Wear: Garden Party Attire - think spring wedding or garden party. Ladies may opt for dresses, florals, or other dressy outfits, while gentlemen can wear dress pants/chinos with a button-down shirt or a nice polo. The ceremony will be outdoors, so comfortable shoes are recommended.

A Note about the Celebration: This celebration came together pretty quickly and will be our West Coast ceremony: a relaxed gathering where we officially get married surrounded by the loved ones who can join us. Because Tom is originally from the East Coast and Tawny is a West Coast girl, we will have a more traditionally planned wedding on the East Coast in the future so more family and friends can celebrate with us. For now, we’re excited to gather, celebrate, and enjoy a joyful evening together.

We’re so happy to celebrate this moment with you all and are grateful to share such a special day surrounded by family and friends. Between moving within the past month and planning this wedding in just two weeks, 2026 has already been quite the start for us. Because of that, we decided to keep our registry simple and create a Honeymoon Fund to help us celebrate our first adventure as newlyweds. If you’d like to contribute, we would truly appreciate it as we begin this next chapter together. With love, Thomas and Britawnya
