Our Story
We met at a church retreat at Sandy Cove on Friday, March 25th. Although we met that weekend, we didn't get to know each other well until the following year after the next retreat. We both spent time attending the same small group at our church, and realized that we aligned in a lot of different ways. We spent the first couple months of 2024 in the same social groups, slowly but surely getting to know each other better. At a certain point, a lot of people kept asking us if we were dating although we were just friends at the time. As time went on, it became clear that we were both interested, but decided to fast and pray to see if it was what God desired for our lives. After Easter, we both felt like we received our answer and decided to start dating. That was coming upon more than two years ago, and we have been growing together and falling more and more in love ever since.

Traditionally, the Bride's family hosts a reception for friends and family the day after the ceremony to celebrate the union of 2 families. Please join us for this celebration! Expect a time of worship, a sermon, a coffee ceremony and more!

When should I RSVP by?

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?
Answer
Yes, there is plenty of parking at both venues. For the Ceremony, if additional parking is needed, please park across the street.
Question
Are kids welcome at the Ceremony?
Answer
We love having your children with us. To help keep the ceremony and speeches uninterrupted, please make sure little guests remain supervised and are able to step out if they need a break.

Are kids welcome at the Melse?
Answer
We love your little ones, but due to space and safety considerations, we are only able to include children who are part of the wedding party or immediate family. Thank you for understanding.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
Ceremony: Semiformal/Garden Party. If the weather's nice we will head outside to mingle, so wear comfortable shoes. Melse: Most Ethiopian guests will be wearing Ethiopian clothes i.e. white/neutral bases with pops of color. Flowy dresses and skirts for the women and dress pants for the men.
