4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
We will get the evening started at 4pm with a cocktail hour on Alhambra Hall's patio overlooking the beautiful marsh and the Charleston harbor. There will be light bites and and adult beverages. We'll move inside for dinner, toasts, and dancing, and wrap up around 8pm. Kids are welcome! The attire is "garden party." Outdoor areas consist of a bricked in patio and a grassy lawn. There's also a porch with views! Dinner will be indoors. The weather in Charleston in May is usually stunning - think highs in the low-80s and lows in the mid-60s with low humidity. There is a medium sized parking lot on site and street parking, but we also encourage guests to use a ride share service. P.S. - We’ll likely have a rendezvous place after the party at Shem Creek for those looking to continue the party after kids’ bedtime.

This is the closest beach where there are hotels (Isle of Palms), in case you're looking to stay by the water!
Walk down a boardwalk through the maritime forest to get to the beach - it might be warm enough for a swim! SI has a cute main street with great restaurants, bars and a few shops. We love the Obstinate Daughter, Sullivan's Fish Camp, and Home Team BBQ. The wine bar, Poe's and divey bar, Dunleavy's, are good for a casual drink. Don't miss A Maker's Post and Gold Bug for shopping, and Beard Cat's for gelato.
Stroll the French Quarter, visit art galleries, cemeteries, book stores, and find hidden alleyways. This area sits between busy East Bay Street (lots of food/drink) on the harbor, and Meeting / King Street. You can walk from the French Quarter down to see Rainbow Row and continue onto The Battery / South of Broad to see centuries old mansions.
Delightfully tacky bars and seafood joints line the waterfront on Shem Creek. This is a great place for an outdoor drink (though it might be a Coors Light), to spot dolphins, and eat fried seafood. We like Water's Edge (cabana bar) and Red's (head all the way up to Crow's Nest). Great place for sunset or weekend daytime drinks! If you're feeling adventurous, you can also rent kayaks from here or hop on a sunset booze cruise.
