We initially met when we both attended Williamstown High School together. Fast forward five years, and Brandon messaged me (Karlee) on Facebook. One conversation led to another, and soon we agreed to go on a first date together. At the time, I wasn't having much luck in the dating department, and I let my nerves get to me. I actually ended up standing Brandon up for that first date and we didn't talk for the whole next year. However, fate intervened one night while I was working as a waitress and a lady I waited on begged me "not to settle". The first man that popped into my head during that conversation was Brandon. I swallowed my pride and reached out to him. I finally went on that first date, and the rest is history!

One thing that we have really enjoyed sharing is our mutual love of horses. Appropriately, Brandon proposed to me last October one afternoon while we were riding horses on his family's farm. To say that I was surprised is an understatement! It was the easiest yes of my life and I have the most beautiful and special engagement ring as a reminder of that day. It was perfect: just us, the horses, and the farm, which is just how we like it!
