Jack and Alli were introduced to one another by two of their best friends during the summer of 2022. At the time, Alli had just graduated from University of Dayton and was beginning her career with Workday in Cincinnati, OH. Jack was preparing for his final semester at S&T by working an engineering internship in Chicago, IL. The two met for the first time in St. Louis, MO during a weekend at home for Jack, and a weekend visiting her college roommate for Alli. They hit it off with one another right away and spent all evening chatting and getting to know each other better.

After meeting in STL over 4th of July weekend, Jack and Alli returned to their respective home cities, but that didn’t stop them from nightly FaceTime calls. During one of these calls Alli suggested that she visit Chicago to attend the Mustache Crawl in Wrigleyville. Jack was all in and they called it a date. During the weekend in Chicago, Jack and Alli got to spend quality time together, enjoying some Chicago style pizza and Jack took Alli to her first White Sox game. That Saturday, Alli and Jack attended the Mustache Crawl with some friends and when they returned to Jack’s apartment he asked her to officially be his girlfriend.

After making it official in Chicago, Jack and Alli embarked on their long-distance journey. Alli remained in Cincinnati, and as the summer came to a close, Jack returned to Rolla, MO to finish his final semester. This semester was filled with lots of road trips from Cincy to Rolla, Rolla to Cincy, before Jack moved back home to the STL area to begin working. This was met with lots of excitement for the both of them due to the decrease in time between them from 7 hours to 5.5 hours. Throughout the first year of their relationship, Jack and Alli made TONS of amazing memories. From visiting to each other’s hometowns to a vacation in AZ to celebrate Jack’s graduation, there was no shortage of good times had between the two. Finally on June 29th, 2023 Alli made the big move to STL from Cincy with the help of Jack and her parents. This started the beautiful new chapter of Jack, Alli, and their dog Bennie all being roomies!

Nearly a year and a half after Alli’s big move to STL (St. Charles), and many months of preparation by Jack it was time for the big moment! Alli had believed that they would be spending the evening at a friend’s “Christmas party”, which had been on the calendar for months, but little did she know that Jack had other plans. Jack took Alli down to Main St. in St. Charles - her favorite spot for all things shopping and dining, and a place near to her as they’d taken all of her family who had visited them in MO. After parking the car, Jack suggested they head toward the riverfront and that they did. Along the path of the Katy Trail, surrounded by beautiful Christmas lights, Jack got down on one knee and asked Alli to marry him. Of course he was met with a resounding “YES!” The two enjoyed a special dinner together before heading home where Jack had arranged for both of their families and two of their best friends to surprise Alli to celebrate the most exciting of occasions!
