Steven and I met in high school, though he was a grade ahead of me. We didn’t talk much back then—he’s told me he was very shy and mostly kept to himself. We would exchange quick hellos and goodbyes, but that was about it. Eventually, he stopped going to school, and we lost touch. I didn’t see or hear from him again until my senior year, when he suddenly sent me a Facebook message out of the blue asking to hang out. I said yes—and after that day, we talked every day and spent nearly all our time together. Then came my birthday, April 10, 2016—my big 18th birthday party. That’s the day Steven asked my mom for permission to date me. Fast forward ten years, and now we have two beautiful girls, three crazy cats, and three equally crazy dogs. Our home is loud, chaotic, loving, and full of laughter—and we wouldn’t change a thing :)
