We first met while attending Herron High School. Our first interaction happened while I(Odonus Blue the greatest) was receiving yet another detention from our Latin teacher Gilchrist for not having my school ID on, and in a turn of desperation not to have to suffer alone, I glanced over and saw her. Standing 5'2 and naive to my subtle but not subtle glance, stood my victim. "Look at Maria's skirt!" I exclaimed, pointing out that her skirt was not exactly knee height. So, according to the school handbook meant she was to endure the same punishment as her future husband.....a detention. He gave us both detention, which I never served( sorry Herron), but we were to continue our tangential destiny as we next year ended up having both art and level 3 Latin together. Over my junior year, her senior year, we grew a lot closer. Eventually, that summer after asking her friend for her number( I never used it), I asked her for her number and to date. We have both grown much since those days, but through it all, college, separate living conditions, career trajectory changes, we have always cherished every moment and are grateful for everyone we have. From good to bad friends, family, and acquaintances(shout out to you, Frank), you've taught us much and helped us grow, and now, as we enter a new chapter, we would love to share that beginning, that zero point, with all of you. So come out and celebrate as we say goodbye to Maria Man and Odonus Blue and hello to the Blues.
