Where is the wedding?

Answer

The wedding is planned at a renovated building in the rural French Countryside about one hour from Lyon airport. It is named "Le Ferme du Bois de Plottes" and is near the village of Tournus.

Where should we stay?

Answer

We have a small number of rooms at the venue, which have been reserved for parents, siblings, Maid of Honour and Best Man. In the upcoming months we will add a suggestion list of where locally to stay in the area. The local village, Tournus, has many local hotels, AirBnBs and guest rooms. We will be providing transport on the evening on the way back to your local accommodation from midnight onwards. There are large grounds on the venue, which the owner has suggested anyone who wishes to camp (tent or camper) is welcome - if this is your thing, please let us know beforehand.

What will there be to drink?

We have planned to choose the wine from a local vineyard, all selected to compliment our menu beautifully. We will supply plentiful wine on the evening for you all. We plan for a cocktail bar and a signature beer and soft drinks also.

What will there be to eat?

Answer

We are working with a local caterer to provide a unique menu perfect for our day to keep you all going all day (and all night) long! We will provide canapés in the cocktail hour and then a sit-down meal later in the evening. And perhaps a Midnight snack? (Yes!) If you have any specific dietary requirements, please let Olivia or Ben know as soon as possible. There will be a vegetarian and meat/fish option.

How do we get there?

Answer

From the north of England, flights occur every Tuesday and Saturday with EasyJet from Manchester Airport. From London there are daily flights to Lyon. Lyon Airport has various car hires, we have used a few of these - and so far have had the best experience with EuropCar. You may wish to drive or take the train - in which case you can get a train to Lyon or Macon (another local town).

Will the ceremony and reception be in one place?

Yes, when you arrive, no need to travel anywhere else - all in one place!

Where shall we park?

Answer

The venue has a small amount of off road parking, a 100m walk from the venue. There is also parking behind the venue. Please ensure to arrive on time to secure a space - although we do have exclusive use on the day.

Are children allowed?

While we adore your little ones, we would appreciate if this could be an adults-only reception.

What will the weather be like, and is the ceremony outside?

Answer

We are planning for an outdoor ceremony on a (hopefully) warm, dry July day (25-30 degrees celsius). We do have the option for inside in case of rain if required. Bring suncream and dancing shoes!

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

Since you are travelling to our wedding, making the trip is the gift itself - physical gifts are absolutely not necessary. However, if you are wishing to give, we would appreciate a donation to our "Honeymoon Fund" please contact Olivia or Ben if you wish to give in this way.
