Travel Note

General Travel Information

We will be hosting Friday night dinner at our home in Golden Hill as well as Sunday brunch at the Marriott Marquis listed below for out of town guests and those in the wedding party. These locations are close to the airport and we recommend staying nearby as opposed to staying close to the wedding venue. Besides the Marriott, there are many hotels in downtown San Diego as well as Little Italy that are conveniently located. There are also many Air BnBs: we recommend North Park, Golden Hill, South Park, Hillcrest/Bankers Hill, Little Italy and Downtown.

Things To Do

Come out to the coast, we'll get together, have a few laughs :) While you're in town, here are a few spots we think are worth checking out!

The beach!

San Diego is beach-y keen. Some good ones are Central Beach on Coronado, La Jolla Shores, Pacific Beach, and Mission Beach, but there are many more.

San Diego Zoo

2920 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA 92101

The world famous San Diego Zoo is heralded as one of the best in the world. It's huge, hosts a variety of flora and fauna from all over the globe, and does amazing conservation work to boot.

Balboa Park

San Diego, CA

The crown jewel of San Diego, historic Balboa Park features numerous museums, gardens, and other sites to see. Great for a walk. The San Diego Zoo is located here as well.

Cabrillo National Monument

1800 Cabrillo Memorial Drive, San Diego, CA 92106

Sitting high atop Point Loma, Cabrillo boasts amazing views of both the city and the ocean. There's a historic lighthouse and tide pools down on the back side. Lots of hiking paths as well.

The New Children’s Museum

200 West Island Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101

Located in downtown close to the hotel, the museum features interactive art exhibits and "playscapes," all meant to encourage creativity and critical thinking.

Mission Trails Regional Park

1 Father Junipero Serra Trail, San Diego, CA 92119

Spoiler alert: come to the wedding location early and check out the natural side of San Diego. There are several beautiful hiking paths, including one down through the gorge to the remains of an 18th century dam. Also in the park is Cowles Mountain, the highest point in San Diego (1593 ft), which features panoramic views.

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve

12600 North Torrey Pines Road, San Diego, CA 92037

See the wild side of San Diego's coastline, including some of the very rare Torrey Pine trees themselves. You can also hike down to the beach.
