Justin and Mia met in Dallas in 2022. Mia had been living there for a year, while Justin was new to the city, having moved just a couple of months before they met. For their first date, they kept things simple, watching Keeping Up With the Kardashians on Mia’s laptop and later grabbing Raising Cane’s fried chicken at the drive-through. They drove separately, with Justin leading the way and Mia following behind. In a charming attempt to cover Mia’s meal, Justin told the cashier he’d pay for the car behind him. But, there was a mix-up when the cashier, confused, asked Mia, “Do you know that man? He told me something, but I forgot.” So, Mia ended up paying for her own meal and saw Justin looking confused in his car ahead. They kept the receipt as a funny memento of that first date. They quickly grew close, spending nearly every day together. After four months, Justin officially asked Mia to be his girlfriend, and six months later, they moved into their first apartment together in Addison, Texas. On September 7, 2024, Justin proposed at Sleeping Bear Dunes in Glen Arbor, Michigan—a favorite spot from a visit the year before. The proposal came during a Northern Michigan camping trip with their dog, Hercules, who Justin made sure was part of the plan. He suggested stopping at the dunes on their way back to Grand Rapids, pretending they were there to take photos. At the overlook, as Mia set up the camera, Justin got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Later, he revealed he’d been planning this moment for months, knowing he wanted to propose there after their first visit to the dunes. They celebrated with a picnic that Justin had also planned, complete with champagne. Now, Justin and Mia are set to marry on October 14, 2025, in South Carolina, where they hope to put down roots and start their lives as husband and wife.
