We first crossed paths as freshmen at the University of Michigan in the one and only Mary Markley residence hall. After 4 years of friendship spent collecting blackmail photos and quotes of each other, we decided the risk of those being used against each other was too great and decided to start dating! All jokes aside, the summer of 2021 became the unofficial start of “us.” We bonded over Bagel Fragel and the Loki TV series, carefully refusing to admit they were actually dates. Not long after, we both moved to Chicago, where those not-a-dates turned into full-blown adventures and the never-ending pursuit for the best diner breakfasts, burgers, and tiramisu the city had to offer. Over the next three years, Becca introduced Justin to her favorite movies and music, while Justin returned the favor by teaching Becca the joys of cooking and sports. Together, we discovered new cities, new countries, and plenty of new inside jokes. Fast forward to October 2024: Justin brought Becca back to where it all began- outside Mary Markley at the entrance to Nichols Arboretum. There, he got down on one knee and asked for a lifetime of love, laughter, and nightly rose-and-thorn recaps. (Spoiler alert: Becca said yes!) We can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of our story with all of you! Get ready for a day full of love, laughter, and, of course, roses.
