Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Amanda Barrett and Jeremy Cofsky
We're so excited to share a few favorite things to do in the area. Below is a list of some favorite restaurants, hikes, things to see and do in Hood River area and on the drive from Portland. I would definitely recommend driving the historic highway if you have the time! There's no shortage of activities. If you're feeling adventurous, there are lots of bike rentals, mountain and e-bikes, or you could take kiteboarding or windsurfing lessons. Ask at the local stores for trail info or ask us if you have any specific Q's and we'll point you in the right direction. Have fun!
Thunder Island Brewing Co

A good spot with a view of the Bridge of the Locks located in Cascade Locks, between Portland and Hood River

Latourell Falls Hike

Latourell Falls Hike

Historic Columbia River Highway, Corbett, OR 97019
, (503) 241-3762

A hike with a few waterfalls, can be hard to park depending on time of day

Drive the historic highway. The best way to explain to get on is to put in your gps. Vista House at Crown Point". Then you will just follow Hwy 84. To ensure you stay on it all the way to Cascade Locks which I recommend if you want to pass all the waterfalls, you can add stops to "Latourrell Falls" and "Wahkeena Falls". These are all great stops as well! Wahkeena Falls is much easier to park at than Multnomah Falls and is only 1/2mi hike from one to other so I recommend parking and walking. You will see the trail to your left once you go up by the falls. It's well labeled :)

Multnomah Falls viewpoint and/or hike

Multnomah Falls viewpoint and/or hike

Parking can be difficult. Very touristy. Can make into a loop hike. See Alltrails or message me personally with any hiking questions if wanting to make a hike. I would love to help. Pro pro pro TIP (very important if wanting to go): Park At Wahkeena, do not go all way to Multnomah on highway unlesss need handicapped access. Rules are constantly changing but parking is always INSANE and starting to be charged (it's like an amusement park over there). From Wahkeena, you can walk off side of highway 1/4mi and be there a LOT faster than trying to park in big lot. It's very worth it! Recommend going early

Wineries

Wineries

Hood River

There are too many to name. The link gives all the wineries in the region. Also search "The Fruit Loop" in Hood River and you'll find tons of wineries and small business in and around Hood River. There are some very close to town and some have afternoon music. Grateful Vineyard has good pizza and often music but is closer to Parkdale, a good stop if coming from Mt. Hood hike.

Tom Dick and Harry Mountain Hike

Biking

Biking

There are endless paved biking trails which you will likely see the whole drive from Portland to Hood River along the gorge. I like starting at Starvation Creek trailhead where you'll see some waterfalls or we recently did the Hood River to Mosier portion which is called twin tunnels as you will bike through old tunnels overlooking the gorge. It's really pretty. Both are fun! When you rent your bike, they can give you more info.
