It all began years ago when our fates collided on a dating app called Hinge. Tyler made the first move—liking my picture and messaging me. And, as you might imagine, I quickly discovered that he was funny with great energy. Surprise, surprise, I was hooked. As time passed, we got more comfortable with each other and exchanged social media handles. That's when things took a little turn. I found his Instagram and, let’s just say, I learned that Tyler and his friends really loved to have a “good time” (boat parties, anyone?). Regardless, we first had the expectations to go out on a dinner date but sadly that day never came to fruition and at that stage in our lives we both ended up dating other people. Fast forward 2-3 years, we’re both single again, and whoops, Tyler happens to stumble across my profile on Hinge once more. He clearly wasn’t one to miss a second chance, and, true to form, he jumped right in. This time, he didn’t mess around. He liked one of my photos and dropped a line that made me laugh: “Are we actually going to go out to dinner this time?” I couldn’t help but smile, remembering the funny guy I’d talked to ages ago. But along with that came memories of his party-animal ways, which, at the time, gave me major red flags. So, naturally, I responded in the most difficult way possible (because, let’s be real, We can all be a little hard headed sometimes): “I would never go out with a guy like you.” Tyler, ever the smooth talker, hit me with a quick, “I’m really sorry you feel that way.” And just like that… crickets. Not even a follow-up! I thought, What?! No effort?! So, after a couple of hours (and a little bit of stubbornness), I decided to message him again, asking, “Do you want to know why?” Tyler, of course, always brags about this part of the story. In his words, “She took the bait.” He was quick to respond: “I’m truly sorry you feel that way, but I suppose it couldn’t hurt to know what brought you to that conclusion.” Now, ladies, you know what comes next. With a guy who’s always on a boat, partying every weekend, what else is there to think? I shot back, “Because you look like a player.” Tyler, ever charming, replied, “That’s the furthest thing from the truth, but you’d only know that if you took the time to get to know me over dinner. I promise, I’m actually an extremely kind-hearted person.” At that moment, I thought, Alright, what the heck, I have to give this guy a chance. So I responded, “Okay, I’ll go out with you.” Two days later, we met at Villa Vittoria for our first date, and from the moment we sat down, Tyler had me laughing so hard I almost cried. It was the perfect first date—the kind of night you can’t forget. And that’s how our beautiful story began!
