How We Met

March 2021

We met just as the world was reopening in 2021. We had our first date at the Denver Aquarium and immediately bonded over our love of art, movies and the 1,000 lb Sisters. We decided to shelter together for our annual early spring blizzard and came out an official couple and have never looked back.

The Proposal

July 2023

After a few years of dating, growing, laughing and eventually living together--it felt nothing but correct to take our love to the next level. We decided a trip to Nick's fathers ancestral town of Castelbuono, Sicily was the perfect place for us to take the next step. We took a day trip to the seaside town of Cefalu for a day of sun, wine and food with immediate and extended family. While Austin was rummaging through tidal pools, Nick surprised him with a tap on the shoulder. Nick was on one knee, ring in hand. In an unplanned twist of events, Austin took a ring out of his bag and dropped to one knee as well. With family cheering on the shore, vibrant blue waves crashing on the rocks around of us, we were offically engaged. We celebrated back in Castelbuono during a huge street festival with family, community and quite a few aperols. The next day we whisked ourselves away to Paris to soak in all that had happened, and to start the rest of our lives together. We cannot wait to share our love with all of you and celebrate the night away!

The expectation for dress is cocktail attire. Our ceremony will be outside, weather permitted. Colorado in September ranges from 60 to 80+ degrees, so layers are always recommended. Cocktail Hour/Ceremony will be indoor-outdoor to follow. We recommend planning accordingly for the ceremony with shoes that you are able to walk uphill in, however there will be a small shuttle for those who cannot walk uphill.

FAQs

Question

Where is Colorado Springs?

Answer

Colorado Springs is about an hour and a half south of Denver International Airport. We recommend a car rental or car service for guests coming from out of state.

Question

Will there be transportation provided?

Answer

We will have 2 shuttles, 1 per hotel block taking guests to and from the venue, including an early departure shuttle from the venue in the early evening. There is also a large parking lot on site for anyone driving.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

This is not a black tie event, but we encourage everyone to look their best and at minimum, cocktail attire. Rolling green foothills, Colorado wildflowers and dark wood create the atmosphere of our wedding. We can't wait to see your looks!

With respect, this is a 21+ wedding.
