Once Audrey turned eighteen, she decided it was time to meet someone! After a not-so-great date, she matched Evan, who masqueraded Goldie, his university's canine ambassador, as his own. He eagerly matched back, and they talked about LEGO first, naturally. She was impressed by how well he listened, his hobbies, and his charming good looks... He loved her sincerity, conversational ability, and how pretty she was! Before long, Evan was ready to ask her out, but thought it might be too soon... His dad set him straight--and they planned their first date!
Audrey and Evan, unbeknownst to each other, both waited anxiously in their cars in the Hideaway parking lot. Once they built up proper courage, they met for the very first time outside the door (which he naturally opened, being a gentleman and all). She found him easy to talk to, so much so that very little food was actually eaten. He was far too concerned with getting her number to remember to take the leftovers, the first of many times to come. They exchanged numbers but not before planning a second date to Turkey Mountain (where Evan would hike for the very first time)!
Early in the morning, Audrey and Evan met in the parking lot of Turkey Mountain! He had packed a lot of water, fearing for the worst... But, being with her gave him all the motivation he needed to ascend the Powerline Trail! They stole a moment to appreciate the pond. Not wanting the date to end, he suggested they grab something to eat at Tulsa Hills, which turned into shopping! Even wandering around Target was a blast; they realized that any time together, no matter how ordinary, was special. Naturally, they planned a third date, sealing the deal with a hug.
After a week of texting literal paragraphs to each other, Evan and Audrey were so ready for their third date! Arriving at Woodland Hills Mall, they went to Scheels and rode on a Ferris wheel for the first time. At the top, the car lurched, but they were having far too nice of a time to be overly anxious. After strolling the mall for a while, she suggested they go to Pan Asia--home of eels, cheese ice cream, and so much more! On the way out, he mustered up the courage to ask her to be his girlfriend. She said, "Yes!" So, despite being stuck in thirty minutes of traffic to leave the mall, they could not have been happier.
Now almost a month into dating, Audrey and Evan were beginning to see each other much more frequently... They had met each other's parents, worn kimonos at Japan Festival at UCO, and found their favorite restaurant, the Vault. Tagging along with her family, they went to the Philbrook and saw a full tea ceremony--even getting to taste it! There was also an exhibit of samurai and horse armor. Wandering into the gardens, Evan found the right moment to recite his first love poem. She loved that he had written it just for her (and even wanted to kiss him)! Thankfully, there would be many more opportunities later. They embraced tightly.
