Derek and Aubri met the year of 2018, on the first day back from Christmas break, freshman year. He walked into her english class and it wasn't long before they had a connection. They would sit next to each other every period, get in trouble for laughing, and "flirting". The last day of school came around and that night Derek made his move. He messaged her to see about hanging out that night. It was late and she couldn't, but she told him to come over anyways. She took the dog outside as an excuse to see him, even if it was for 5 minutes. She went in and they talked through her bedroom window. He went home and all she could feel was butterflies dancing in her stomach. Since June of 2018, Derek and Aubriana have been together. They now love to travel, watch Nebraska sports, try new foods, river days, and one another's company. They share a deep love for Jesus and will continue a life through him as one. Derek and Aubriana are beyond happy and eager for this new, beautiful journey in life. They are forever one.
