We met in the most modern way: through a mutual friend who clearly knew what she was doing. At first, we were just friends - the kind where one of us (the groom) immediately knew this was something special and the other was conducting extensive amounts of research. For a full year, we hung out, went on roadtrips, laughed, and got to know each other, while one of us (the bride) resisted his not so very subtle “this is a date” attempts. Eventually, she realized he wasn’t going anywhere (and that he’s actually a pretty neat guy) and they started dating, officially. From there, everything unfolded naturally. What started as a friendship grew into something so much stronger and better than either of us imagined. We’re living proof that God’s timing matters most and sometimes the best love stories start with a VERY long “no” that eventually turns into forever.
