Ashley and Garrett were English majors enrolled in the same class. Every day, Ashley would come in late. Every day, Garrett would save the seat next to him. One day, he finally started up a conversation and asked her for a pencil (spoiler alert: she didn't have one). The rest is history.

On Christmas Day, tucked inside one of Ashley's presents was a blue feather. Why a blue feather, you ask? As a kid, Ashley's favorite game was Harvest Moon, where your character can get married by presenting another character a, you guessed it, blue feather! (The ring itself was hidden in the couch. Thankfully Scout didn't find it).
