We met in 2005 when were 16 years old, as employees at KFC. We would laugh, joke, and innocently play during our work shifts. There were never any true intentions of becoming more than friends. Devin stopped working at KFC long before me, but he would come stalk me at the mall lol because my second job was in the food court. During our teenage and young adulthood years, we always remained in communication. We would go out to eat and enjoy different entertainment spots in Atlanta. In 2014, we decided to take it a step further and started dating exclusively. We started living together and enjoying building a life with one another. Of course we had our ups and downs, but we continued to grow together with a strong commitment to one another. On Christmas 2016, Devin proposed in front of our friends and family! This was such a fun and exciting time for us both because not only were we engaged, but we also were expecting our son in June 2017! We were overjoyed with happiness of the love we shared with one another and the blessing we were bringing into the world. Shortly after, we decided to purchase our first home together, we closed on our home on Halloween 2017. We couldn't be more grateful for our beautiful home, God truly blessed us with all our hearts desired when we chose this home! We got settled into our home and began making preparations for our wedding date. We were full of excitement as everything was going exactly as planned, until a week before the scheduled wedding ceremony, the COVID 19 pandemic took a turn for the worse and the whole world shut down! We were devastated, but determined to make a way to still create our union with one another. In spite of everything, we still arranged for our wedding ceremony to take place in our home on April 4, 2020 surrounded by a few family and friends, virtual and in person. It was such a beautiful day filled with so much love and happiness! We quickly realized that although things didn't go as planned, what God has joined together, let no man separate -Mark 10:9. Soon after we said, "I do" we started being tested in all areas we vowed to be there for one another through. The honeymoon stage was truly non-existent, however we chose to navigate our challenges and reflect on our reasons we chose other. Here we are 5 years later, and ready to say, "I do" again! This time with more wisdom and understanding of what it truly means to uphold our vows to one another and continue our commitment for a lifetime!
