Travel

For our American family and friends, we recommend 2 options: flying to Paris and taking a high speed train straight from the airport to Lyon or flying into Lyon directly. The venue is located in Lacenas, about 50min north of downtown Lyon.

Accomodations

Our venue recommends Hotel Mercure Villefranche sur Saône (384 Blvd Louis Blanc, 69400 Villefranche sur Saone), around $100/night. We suggest staying in Villefranche, just 15 min from the venue—much closer than Lyon (50 min drive). You can also look at Airbnbs around Lacenas, but note that many are in remote areas requiring a car for food or logistics. Getting there: You can rent a car, take a taxi/Uber, or use a TER regional train from Lyon (towards Dijon). When to reserve: The wedding is Thursday, May 14, 2026. We recommend booking at least the night before (Wed, May 13). Villefranche is in the Beaujolais wine region—consider staying longer to enjoy winery tours. Bonus: Don’t skip Lyon! Plan to stay a couple of days before or after the wedding to explore the city—add maybe even a few extra days for a day trip to Annecy in the French Alps.

Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Ashley Adams and Corentin Giral
Lyon is in the heart of France, known for its rich history, beautiful architecture, and world-famous food scene. Stroll through the cobblestone streets of Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon), explore the vibrant markets at Croix-Rousse, or take in panoramic views from the Basilica of Fourvière. Don’t miss the bouchons—traditional Lyonnais restaurants—for an authentic taste of the local cuisine. If you have time, the Musée des Confluences and Parc de la Tête d’Or are also great spots to explore. Whether you're into food, culture, or just relaxing by the Rhône, there's something for everyone! Just northwest of Lyon, the Beaujolais region and the Pierres Dorées (Golden Stones) villages offer a peaceful countryside escape with charming hilltop towns, rolling vineyards, and golden-hued stone buildings. It’s the perfect area to enjoy wine tastings, scenic drives, and a slower pace of life amid beautiful French landscapes.
