Flight
Flying into Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU) is the easiest. The Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico is about 30 minutes in an Uber or Taxi from the airport You may also consider renting a car for the weekend if you'd like to explore a bit! El Yunque Rainforest is close by (see Activities section)
Hotel
Rate: $259 per night Best to get a rental car if staying here (~18 minute drive) If staying at an outside hotel or Airbnb, you can purchase a day pass to the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve at: https://www.hyatt.com/hyatt-regency/en-US/sjurc-hyatt-regency-grand-reserve-puerto-rico
House Or Rental
Airbnb has several options near the hotel, some on the Hyatt Property. Please search for Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. You will likely need to rent a car if staying outside of the Hyatt. Although it looks close on the map, the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar is still a 19 minute drive to the Hyatt! If staying at an outside hotel or Airbnb, you can purchase a day pass to the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve at: https://www.hyatt.com/hyatt-regency/en-US/sjurc-hyatt-regency-grand-reserve-puerto-rico
Rental Car
If renting a car, we highly recommend renting from companies that are located at the terminal. The shuttle service is not particularly reliable for off-terminal companies. These are the car rental companies located at the terminal: - Enterprise - Alamo - Avis - Thrifty - Budget - Hertz - National
Home to some of Puerto Rico's most beautiful beaches! Please note- make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before your ferry leaves. The boarding process closes 10 minutes before departure and they will give away your ticket (we know from experience!)
Bioluminescent bays or "bio bays" are bodies of water where microscopic organisms called dinoflagellates grow in quantities large enough to produce a "glow-in-the-dark" effect called bioluminescence. There are only five ecosystems in the world where the concentration of these dinoflagellates is high enough to be considered a bioluminescent bay, and Puerto Rico is home to three of them! The closet bio bay to the Hyatt is in Fajardo. Our wedding will be around the time of the new moon, so perfect time to do a bio bay tour if you're staying for a few extra days! There are several companies, just a few listed below: https://www.puertoricoecotour.com https://www.puertoricobiobaytours.com/ https://kayakingpuertorico.com/home/tours/bio-bay-kayak-tour/
Explore Old San Juan https://www.discoverpuertorico.com/article/13-old-san-juan-landmarks-you-shouldnt-miss A visit to Viejo San Juan is like traveling back in time. Walk the blue cobblestone streets of the oldest city in America for a look into the core of Puerto Rican history and culture.
Go visit the only rainforest in the US! Bring your rain gear, as it tends to rain in the rainforest. We recommend the El Yunque trail, which will take you to the highest peak: https://www.discoverpuertorico.com/article/best-hiking-trails-el-yunque-national-forest
