Like many modern love stories, ours began with a swipe. In January 2021, right in the middle of the pandemic, we matched on Hinge. Before meeting, Ekenna made sure to “phone screen” Amy to confirm she was real and looked like her photos… no catfish allowed. Once that was settled, we planned our first date in Scottsdale. Amy was (just) 30 minutes late and Ekenna in his frustrations left. But was encouraged to turn around thanks to Austin Moore, shoutout to him for convincing him to go back. Safe to say, that decision changed everything. We met for tacos and margaritas at Cien Agaves, and what started as a simple first date quickly turn into something more. The night continued with martinis at AZ88, where somewhere between the laughter and conversation… Ekenna knew. And the rest is history. 💍
