Brian’s View

Early February 2021

In early February 2021 we matched on Tinder but it wasn’t until the Super Bowl halftime show that I noticed that Antonio had messaged me multiple times. Our conversation continued that evening and we decided to exchange numbers. The day before Valentine’s Day we asked each other if we had plans. Since neither of us did we decided to spend the day together. It was still during Covid so we decided to have an intimate dinner at Antonio’s house. That evening Antonio served steak & lobster (also a lava cake that was light on lava). There was an instant connection and we spent the remainder of the evening listening to music and playing games full of questions to get to know each other. Throughout that week we spent several evenings together and one day that week DC government shut down for a “snowstorm” it was our first full 24 hours together. By Feb 20th Antonio worked the nerve to ask to enter an exclusive relationship and that started our official journey. What has followed is years spent traveling, beautiful meals shared and laughter. Proposal to Antonio In January of 2024 while talking to our front desk attendant in our building I shared that I wanted to propose to Antonio during our anniversary trip the next month (initially I was going to try to reach out to Madonna’s team to arrange an opportunity to do it onstage during her concert). We boarded the boat on 2/10 and I looked for opportunities to sneak away to discuss the proposal with our group’s organizer to ask if I could propose to Antonio during the night’s entertainment on Valentine’s Day. The organizer said to ask the drag queen directly and it was during a dance party that I approached Jimbo who immediately said yes and they would be more than happy to assist in whatever way possible. I emailed my idea and the plan was set. While we were at dinner on 2/14 Antonio brought up that he felt I was going to propose to him that evening and I tried my best to argue that he had no idea what he was talking about. I asked him why he felt that and he brought up that he noticed a few times throughout the days prior that I was having hushed conversations and sneaking off to talk to Jimbo. I went into panic mode and emailed Jimbo to tell her to scrap the proposal for the night but she missed it and the intro I had requested began. I told the performer Heidi no and she moved on. I arranged to do it on 2/15 when everyone was in white that night, according to Antonio everyone looked better that night so it was perfect.

Antonio’s View

#A2B

It all began with a swipe on Tinder back in early 2021. After a few weeks of chatting, Valentine’s Day was approaching, so I boldly sent a double message to Brian after he left me on read. And let me tell you, it was worth it. Not only was he able to hold a real conversation, but he was also adorable. We decided to have a Valentine's dinner at my place, and let me just say that the steaks and lobster tails were divine. While the lava cake dessert was more Mount Phoussas than active, it tasted great. After a few drinks and some fun games Brian had bought, we learned much about one another. I knew that Brian could be the one. He was clearly into me. He laughed as if everything I said was Def Comedy Jam. We soon became exclusive, shortly after Brian decided to spend the “snowstorm” with me, and the adventures began. From traveling to savoring delicious food to engaging in lively Taurus vs. Aries debates, we've shared many unique experiences and countless laughs. I always followed Wendy Williams's rule of three years for a relationship, so as we approached three years, we discussed marriage. My investigation caused a minor delay in Brian’s proposal. Keeping with the theme of drag queens, I decided at our favorite DC drag brunch to ask Brian to spend the rest of his life with me. And guess what? He said yes! We're thrilled to announce our love and plans to spend forever together, and we want you to join us in celebrating this incredible journey.
