It's true what they say, women do love a man in uniform. However, it took me a while to notice. He started out as my mail carrier, always very professional and very caring. I remember being home sick for a couple of days when suddenly my doorbell rang. When I came to my window, I noticed him standing there with such a beautiful smile on his face asking if I was okay. A sweet gesture that made me feel warm. Oblivious to his true feelings our lives continued as usual, until we ran into each other in the McDonald's line, and the rest is history.

It was during a weekend getaway to celebrate his birthday. Casually strolling down the beach looking for seashells. I should have suspected he was up to something seeing as he does not too often plan adventures, I must have really lost myself in searching for seashells because when I turned around, there he was down on one knee. I'm not sure I heard half the words that came out of his mouth. I was just so surprised that he pulled it off without me finding out.
