Legally married 3.14.24

I'm sorry, What?

The deeply unromantic truth is we got married for the bad days. The good days have always been good. Traveling, cooking, theatre-ing, loving our cats, and just being home. These days are everything. We have worked together to build a life that we love. A life where we feel lucky every day to be able to come home together. The truth is the bad days aren't as bad when we're together either but the harsh reality is that there may be worse ahead. Earlier this year I (Annie) had a few friends whose spouses found themselves unexpectedly in hospitals. What would happen to the other if one of us were to be seriously hurt or worse? We began to discuss the benefits of being married. We looked at our work schedules and we drove to Colorado to handle the legal aspects. Colorado was the perfect choice for us. Surrounded by beautiful public land with no mandatory witness or officiant we signed the paperwork and committed to one another. We spent the next little while exploring national parks in the area before coming home. Although that day was everything we had hoped for - I still wanted pictures. Our Alaska cruise became our celebration and honeymoon. We packed a gown and a suit and have been able to take a breath from the rapid pace of the lives we lead and celebrate. We have been incredibly busy lately and now as we slow down to celebrate - we wanted to bring you into our circle and celebrate with you. But also - we're on our honeymoon. Service is sketchy at best and we're not really reachable. We love you. We'll see you when we get home. Annie & JayC

FAQs

Question

Why Wait to Tell Us?

Answer

As a introverted, quiet couple we wanted nothing more than to have our day be about us. It was quiet, it was beautiful, and it was a great road trip. As we came back to the real world we weren't quite ready to pop that bubble. Our honeymoon to Alaska seemed like the perfect time to share our news! We love you. We value you. We appreciate your support.

Question

Is this really all of the photos?

Answer

No! We will have our formal portraits sometime tomorrow night and plenty of more Alaska pictures. Check back tomorrow or the day after and we should have a bunch more.

Question

Gifts? Registries?

Answer

We don't expect gifts from anyone. We love you. We're doing well. We've lived together for several years. If you'd like to send a gift anyway we tend to keep an Amazon registry pretty updated here: https://www.amazon.com/wedding/registry/1V7JHWCL5VQKU?ref=wr_search_page_result_1

Registry

We'll post our registry here when we're finished building it. Thank you in advance!
