Once upon a time, Eric was presenting his research group's poster at an event in Dabney Hall. There were many other poster presenters, and the room was bustling with noise and laughter, but Eric was all alone in a corner. In walks Angela, who, upon seeing poor Eric, shouts, "You poor bastard!" It was loud enough to turn nearby heads. Eric looks up, surprised, as Angela rushes over and exclaims how strange it is he was placed so far away from all the others. And so began their fateful friendship, and Eric became Angela's forevermore poor bastard - to which he usually responds, "and for that, I'm the richest bastard in the world."
