Our Story
Our journey began in our early 20’s, when a blind date was arranged by my dear friend Karen—who also happens to be Tracy’s first cousin. We had a fun dinner and later went back to my mom’s apartment, where I was still living at the time. We spent the evening listening to music, laughing, and simply enjoying each other’s company. But life had other plans, and for different reasons, the timing just wasn’t right. Fast forward 10 years to 1994—my girlfriend Dian invited me to a BBQ in Brooklyn. It turned out to be at one of Tracy’s friend’s Gary Johnson's house. After all those years, I had no idea I’d run into him again. The moment I saw him, I recognized him immediately—though this time he had a little more muscle on those bones! He looked so fine! I walked right up to him and asked if he remembered me. At first, he didn’t (maybe because he was having too much fun that day, lol), but once I reintroduced myself, the spark was reignited. We talked for a while, exchanged numbers, and before long, I invited him over for dinner at my apartment in Manhattan. That night I cooked for him, and we laughed, talked, and truly enjoyed each other. He didn’t even want to leave—I practically had to kick him out, lol! Tracy later told me that within two weeks, he knew I was the woman he wanted to marry. No more “playa playa” days—he was ready to settle down. We fell in love quickly. By 1995, we were engaged, and on June 29, 1996, we became husband and wife. Since then, God has blessed us with two beautiful children, our son Jarrett and our daughter Jordan. Over the past 29 years, we’ve built a wonderful life together—filled with countless joyful memories, but also strengthened through trials and tribulations. With God’s grace, our love and commitment have only deepened, and our marriage covenant has grown stronger. Now, as we celebrate 30 years of marriage, we feel incredibly blessed and grateful to share this milestone with our family and friends. We cannot wait to see you all next June in the Dominican Republic as we renew our vows and celebrate the beautiful life we’ve built together. With love, Tracy & Drea

WILL I RECEIVE HYATT POINTS FOR MY STAY IF I BOOK THROUGH THE WEDDING ROOM BLOCK?
Answer
No, Hyatt points will not be awarded for reservations booked within the wedding room block. However, all guests must book their rooms through our travel agency and within our dedicated wedding block. This ensures access to all group amenities and wedding festivities. Guests who do not book through our travel agency and within the designated block will not be permitted to attend any wedding-related events.

CAN I BRING A DATE?

Our dream is to celebrate an intimate wedding with the people we love most. Invitations will clearly list all invitees, and only those named are included on the guest list and in our room block. Unfortunately, no additional guests can be added.

ARE KIDS WELCOME?

Children are welcome to travel with you and enjoy the resort, but our wedding ceremony and reception will be an adults-only celebration. We hope you’ll take this opportunity to relax, let your hair down, and celebrate in paradise with us!

DO I HAVE TO BOOK THROUGH YOUR TRAVEL AGENT?

Yes. All guests must book through our travel agent in order to be part of the wedding group and to access the wedding events on resort property. Denise, our dedicated travel agent, is here to answer all booking questions and make the process stress-free. Reservations made outside of our group block will not provide access to the wedding.

DO YOU HAVE A ROOM BLOCK?
Answer
Yes! We’ve secured a block of rooms at Secrets Playa Esmeralda (adults-only) and Dreams Playa Esmeralda (family-friendly). There are several room categories available, but availability is limited. We encourage you to book early—rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

WHAT DATES ARE THE ROOM BLOCK FOR?

Our reserved dates are June 27th – June 30th, 2026. Guests may request additional nights before or after these dates, subject to hotel confirmation. Please note: a 3-night minimum stay is required.

WHEN DO I NEED TO BOOK BY?
Answer
As soon as possible! Other weddings and events are happening at the resorts, and availability cannot be guaranteed if you wait. A deposit of $100 per person is required to secure your room. After your deposit, you can make payments anytime (a suggested payment plan will be provided). Final balance is due March 15, 2026.

Please RSVP by booking your room and submitting your response no later than October 15, 2025, so we can have an accurate headcount. If you cannot attend, please RSVP “no” so we can continue planning accordingly.

It’s your vacation too! Stay as long or as short as you’d like. The wedding is on Monday, June 29, 2026, so plan around that date. Extra nights may be added upon request.

DO I NEED A PASSPORT?
Answer
Yes. A valid passport is required to travel to the Dominican Republic and must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your trip dates. If you need to apply or renew, please do so as soon as possible.

CAN I USE AMERICAN MONEY IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC?
Answer
Yes. U.S. dollars are accepted at the resort, especially for tipping. Bring small bills ($1–$5) for convenience. Tipping at an all-inclusive is casual—no need to calculate percentages, just a few dollars here and there for excellent service. Notify your bank before you travel so your credit/debit cards work smoothly.

Does the resort offer childcare during the wedding?

Yes! The resort provides childcare at the Explorer’s Club, open daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, as well as babysitting services. Babysitting is currently USD $20 per hour, per child. All Explorer’s Club staff are certified by the Red Cross in CPR for children. To arrange childcare or babysitting services, please contact the concierge team at: concierge.drepe@dreamsresorts.com.

At Secrets Maximum occupancy: 2 people per room Single (1): One person per room. Double (2): Two people per room. ⚠️ Please note: Selecting 2 or 3 guests under the single category will result in multiple rooms being assigned. Selecting 4 or 6 guests under the double category will also result in multiple rooms being assigned. At Dreams Maximum occupancy: 4 people per room 2 Adults + 2 Children, or 3 Adults + 1 Child.
