We met at a mutual friend’s Halloween-themed birthday party in October 2022—a night neither of us originally planned to attend. Isaias caught my eye the moment I saw him dressed as a shinobi from Naruto (yes, really). Apparently, I wasn’t very subtle about staring, because he definitely noticed before we even spoke! We ended up playing beer pong together (thanks to him asking me to be his partner), and after a few rounds, we snuck off to the patio where we talked for hours until the party ended. We wanted to exchange contact info, but in true rom-com fashion, he didn’t have his phone—something I thought was an excuse at first, until it turned out he had actually left it in his brother’s car! Once he got it back and we started texting, we haven’t gone a single day without talking since. He officially asked me to be his girlfriend on January 14, 2023. (I originally wanted to wait 90 days… that didn’t quite happen. 😄) As our relationship grew, so did our dreams for the future. In 2024, we went on our first vacation together—a cruise—and on October 1st, while sailing under the stars, he asked me to be his wife. Wedding planning came with its own challenges, so we chose to have an intimate courthouse ceremony with immediate family on June 18, 2025. It was the perfect reminder that love—not timing or budgets—is what matters most. Now, we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by all the people who’ve supported us along the way.
