The Day They Met

Sara and Zach first met in March of 2021 after matching with each other on a dating app. They had their first date at a mezcal bar in Downtown LA, where Zach asked Sara if she was interested in ordering a tasting flight. Sara said yes, but only if they ordered more than just appetizers. That was the moment that they knew they had something special. They both shared an appetite for life.

••• We will be staying at the Sheraton Maui Resort in Ka’anapali. We’ve reserved a room block at a discounted rate with lower resort fees and other small perks. It's a beautiful hotel with lagoon-style pools and easy access to one of the best beaches on the island. It's a great place that everyone can enjoy. All along the 1.5 mile stretch of Ka’anapali beach, there are lots of hotels and condos that are just as great to stay at. There's a long pathway that spans the entire beach, so whichever hotel you choose, gathering with others will be easy. No matter where you decide to stay on the island, finding people you know and traveling to the chapel on our wedding day will be a breeze. Maui is pretty small. Most of the popular places can be driven to within an hour or two.

Sunday, September 21st @ 11AM ••• On the day after the ceremony, we'll be snorkeling and sun bathing at Black Rock Beach. The beach is located directly in front of the Sheraton Maui Resort next to a large outcropping of black rocks, hence the name. You can't miss it. Bring a towel, a snorkel, and anything else you might want for a day at the beach. There are plenty of bars and restaurants throughout the area for anyone who doesn't feel like bringing a lunch. If you're not staying near the Sheraton and want to access the beach, there are two ways to go. You can park at Whaler's Village and walk through the outdoor shopping area to the beach, or you can park at or near the Sheraton and use the Kāʻanapali Beach Public Access Trail. •••

Monday, September 22nd @ 2PM Arrival ••• For those of you staying through Monday, we would love for you to experience the Haleakala Crater. Located inside the Haleakala National Park, this world heritage site is one of the most incredible things you can see on Maui. Leaving from Lahaina, we'll drive about 90 minutes to the national park, pay the entrance fee, then drive 30 minutes to the summit near the crater. Dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, and bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. There are no gas stations or food inside the park, so pack whatever you plan on eating, and be sure to fill up the gas tank on your rental car before making the drive. We'll arrive at the summit, walk around a little, take a small hike into the crater, then make our way back out. Weather permitting, we'll all get to witness a beautiful sunset from the top of the volcano before we leave! •••
