Life has a funny way of bringing people together. Take Michael, an outdoorsy guy from Anchorage, Alaska, and Ally, a cute girl from Virginia. How in the world did they meet? Little did they know, but after they had graduated and left the house, their families would both settle in the quiet town of McCall, Idaho, and their little brothers would become fast friends. This is where our story begins. Their paths initially crossed on a dating app, but Michael ghosted Ally after a week or two of chatting. This seemed like the end of their relationship. Fate, however, had other plans. A few weeks later, Ally's mom mentioned that she had a friend with a son who was ‘super cute’, happened to be from McCall, and also attended BYU. Surprise – it was Michael, the same person who had stopped messaging her a few weeks earlier. Ally decided to go out on a limb and gave him another shot and they began to talk again. Their first in-person meeting at the YSA ward was a nervous affair for both of them. Ally tried to talk to Michael after church, but at the last second got nervous and just decided to go home. After a stern talking to from her dad, she decided to go back to church and give him another shot. Their relationship grew steadily from there, helped along by their little brothers who had their minds set on Michael and Ally dating. They were not disappointed. Michael asked Ally out on their first date - snowshoeing in Ponderosa State Park. One week later, after a fun night of swing dancing, they decided to make it official and Michael asked Ally to be his girlfriend. Since then, Michael and Ally have shared many adventures, from McCall to Moab, California, Yellowstone, and beyond. Now, a year to the day after their first date, they are so excited to begin this next chapter in their lives! They are grateful to have you as part of their journey and appreciate the love and support you continue to show.
