It was the Fall of 2022, and Alison was without a co-teacher because the school failed to use their time off during summer break to hire someone. Marlyn, being one of the school's speech providers, so generously offered to push into Alison's English classroom and provide her students with their services during their ELA class. Marlyn and Alison worked well together and developed a friendship. Then, around February of 2023, Alison's feelings quickly went from platonic to romantic, but she was far too nervous and insecure to make a move. Instead, she did the only thing she knew how to do: charm Marlyn with her witty, humorous, and supportive nature and weaseled her way into her heart (it took about 9 months, but so does a baby, and y'all have no problem waiting for one of those to pop out). In October of 2023, after Alison went overboard for Marlyn's birthday and made it VERY clear what her intentions were, Marlyn finally picked up on what Alison was throwing out there. Finally, on their way home from work on October 25, 2023, Marlyn admitted that she could picture a romantic future with Alison, and the rest, as they say, is history! In typical lesbian fashion, Alison moved in within two weeks, and they have since built a home together with their sweet 11-year-old, Hannah, and their precious puppy, Everest. Alison popped the big question on their trip to Puerto Rico on June 27, 2025 and Marlyn agreed to share a lifetime of love, happiness, and headaches with Alison.
