Our story

Mason and Alifair met while working at Total Wine, though they weren’t that close at first, just one night changed it all. Alifair’s roommate decided to invite Mason over for an expensive wine tasting, and though Alifair didn’t bring a bottle that was $100+, she quickly decided to go after hearing Mason was going. Leading up to that night, Alifair kept asking her roommate if Mason was going, though the answer was constantly the same. After a few drinks, Alifair found the courage to finally talk to Mason. She was playing around with her phone, scrolling, when she got to her contacts and jokingly said, “well, it looks like I don’t have your phone number” and Mason replied “it looks like you don’t”. Alifair then handed her phone to Mason, where he then entered his number in her phone. A month passed by, and Alifair had only messaged Mason once, waiting for him to text her first. However, that all changed when her and her then roommate, Chris, were having a couple of glasses of wine around 10 o’clock at night, when Alifair invited Mason over. She quickly changed her mind, and they rescheduled for the following week. That whole week, leading up to the first night they hung out, was a blur, but Mason eventually came over and never left. Fast forward 2 years, Alifair was talking to her friend, and discussing how she and Mason were going to Austin to see her mom, when she decided “I think I’m going to ask Mason to marry me”. It had been almost exactly two years since they started dating, and she felt she was ready, though he hadn’t ask her yet. Her and her best friend, Jason, quickly got into planning mode, and planned out a walk to a beautiful spot overlooking the Colorado river, Mount Bonnell. Once she got her best friend on board, she then pulled Mason’s mom, Laura, to the side, and since roles was already reversed, asked for her blessing to marry her son. On September 24, 2022, Alifair and her mother brought Mason, wearing a Hawaiian shirt of course, to Mount Bonnell, telling him she wanted to take some pictures. Once she got the right spot pinned down, and her courage built up, she walked him over to a cliff overlooking the river, with his parents on FaceTime, and ask for him to be her husband.
