In 2013, Alicia noticed Shardae on a mutual friend's social media and immediately hopped in Shardae's DM. After a few conversations, things fizzled out because of the distance. Fast forward to 2018, when Alicia got wind that Shardae was back in Michigan, she looked up "Daedream" on Instagram! Alicia again hopped into Shardae's DM with every intention of getting to know her before she went too far away again. They went back and forth over the phone, and one night Alicia took Shardae a Shwarma from Bucherest. They sat outside on that nice summer night, sharing memories and dreams. It was an instant connection. Soon enough, they became inseparable. In 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, Shardae decided that she no longer wanted to live in Michigan and relocated to Arizona. Though they maintained consistent communication, the distance became too much after about a month, and Alicia made the decision that love outweighed location and joined Shardae in Arizona. They both embraced the new chapter of their lives in Arizona, exploring the beautiful desert landscapes and immersing themselves in the vibrant culture. Despite the challenges they faced, their love only grew stronger, proving that sometimes taking a leap of faith is worth it for a lifelong connection.

Alicia and Shardae had a red-eye flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico, on the evening of August 25th. That day, before "going to the mall" with a friend, Alicia laid out a trail of roses leading to a beautiful dress hanging up with a note attached: "Your ride will be here at 6 p.m. I picked out the perfect dress for tonight's surprise." Around 7 p.m., Shardae arrived at the surprise location. She was blindfolded and walked back to a location with a beautiful water fountain. As she stepped closer to the fountain, R.-Forever began to play, the blindfold was removed, and there was Alicia standing on an aisle of rose petals, awaiting her future wife, and surrounded by friends......  She said YES!!!
