How We Met

We met our freshman year at William Jewell College. We were both swimmers on the team and majoring in biochemistry. The life of a swimmer majoring in biochemistry can be quite hectic with little to no time for "fun" but we were lucky to spend a lot of time together studying, swimming, or venting about studying and swimming! As time went on we realized that there was something there... THE SPARK! We enjoyed each other's company and would spend hours talking about stimulating world events or trying to figure out how snails grew their shells.

From Then to Now!

Amidst studying, swimming, and sleeping, we mustered up the courage to go on our first date to a local coffee shop. Truly the first time we could be together and away from campus. To say it went well would be an understatement... The coffee shop was closing and the lone employee gave us some free pastries (possibly to get us to leave). Since then we have been on an adventure together. John lived and worked in Kansas City for a couple of years while Alexis was completing her first two years of medical school in Kirksville and acquired herself a lovely little cat named Norm. The three of us moved down to Texas so Alexis could finish her medical school rotations. On September 24th, 2022, John asked the most important question in his life and Alexis gave the most important answer of hers. As we move to the present day, we are excited to have our friends and family celebrate with us at the beginning of our happy lives together. We can't wait to see you!

FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by April 5th, 2024. If you have any questions/difficulties, please reach out to the bride or groom.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes, we are! Please see our "Registry" section for the Amazon link and Cash Gift link.

Question

Is there a suggested hotel? Where is the best place to stay?

Answer

Since we have a smaller guest list for the occasion, there is not a room block at a specific hotel. If you are staying overnight, downtown Kansas City has no shortage of activities!
