Things To Do

Grand lake has plenty to do! The town has shopping, bars, restaurants, and most amenities you may need. There’s a map of the town called “Moe’s Map- Grand Lake ” that includes a lot of the staples if you google it. Hiking- we recommend using the apps All Trails or Hiking Project to find something that fits you! There are kayak and paddleboard rentals available at the marinas as well if you’re looking for some time on the water!

Trail Ridge Road

Trail Ridge Road, Grand Lake, CO

This is a beautiful drive through Rocky Mountain that can be done on the way to Grand lake or from the town. It’s above the clouds and includes high alpine (all paved) roads. You do need a timed entry pass into Rocky Mountain national park to drive it, but we highly recommend! Park passes can be found at nps.gov - search “Trail Ridge Road”

FAQs

Question

Transportation to the ceremony

Answer

Many guests will be staying at Colorado Cabin Adventures and will be carpooling to the AA barn. If you are staying at the cabins, please carpool as much as possible! There is only so much parking at the venue! There will be parking available for those who drive from the AA barn and are not staying on site.

Question

Event attire

Answer

Colorado Fancy- aka not black tie, but looking nice. We will be outside for both the wedding and reception. We will also be on grass for the wedding and at the reception. The sun at elevation can feel a lot warmer than the temperature lets on for the day time festivities, and Colorado has big temperature swings once the sun goes down as well. Please check the weather and bring something you will be comfortable in!

Question

Ceremony bathrooms - are there any?

Answer

The site we are getting married is a forest service site. That means it has vault toilets- these are new and maintained, but not your typical bathroom. We just wanted to make sure and give a heads up on this :)
