Ana and Alex were both trying to stay focused on their studies in senior year of high school. She was excited to study nursing and have nothing to do with any boys! Alex was content with his Belen buddies and LEGO excited to pursue engineering. They texted often. When Alex’s phone broke on a trip during Christmas break, he frantically logged onto his email on his mother’s phone to email Ana back so she wouldn’t think he was ignoring her. His pursuit and subtle flirting caught Ana’s eye. The confessed their feelings for each other on NYE 2019 over email. When they next saw each other at the start of the Spring semester, they made a pact and have kept it ever since. Though the Pandemic and long distance engagement have been some of their many challenges, through perseverance and grace, they have come together in marriage!
