As we determine all of the details for the weekend, we'll update them here on the website and send a text notification to everyone with important information. For booking purposes, we will probably make some casual plans to spend time with everyone over the whole weekend (i.e. Friday night and on Sunday), but there won't be any other formal, organized events.
Please don't get us any gifts - being surrounded by all of our loved ones IS the gift! In keeping with this, instead of traditional speeches, we will have a time following dinner to pass microphones around, and we would love for as many people as possible to give us the gift of sharing something they love or admire about us as a couple or individuals, a brief story, or a best wish. Think: 30 seconds of something heartfelt, not a prepared speech for entertaining everyone else. If you do have an entertaining anecdote really worth telling, taking a few minutes is fine! We don't have time for every single person to say something, so if nothing naturally comes to mind, no worries.
We will ask our Squam community to help with a few things, one of which will probably be acquiring enough camp chairs and blankets for the ceremony to accommodate everyone, including our out-of-town guests.
Hotel
One of the pricier options, but probably the best bet if you're looking for a more traditional hotel. NOT within easy walking distance of downtown or the dinner venue.
Hotel
A recently renovated more budget hotel option with a virtual reception, located right downtown, above the Chieftan Pub, a Squamish landmark. Reviews look pretty decent after the rennovation but make sure you book a room that is not marked as "noise impacted" directly above the pub!!!!!!
Hotel
Somewhat mixed reviews, but a small boutique-style inn near downtown and the venue, located as part of a brew pub. (Make sure to get a room that's not above the noisy pub!)
Travel Note
There are very few (or none) small Airbnb's/VRBO's around Squamish, but it looks like there are still a few houses for larger groups of ~6-12 available for this weekend.
Travel Note
There are plentiful shuttles from the airport to downtown Squamish, although most of the the sights to see in the area are more accessible by car.
