THE BEGINNING Our journey began through a simple WhatsApp conversation after we were connected by a mutual friend, Vanessa, through a YouTube video featuring Seth. Not long after we first connected, life became busy, and we lost touch for close to five months. At the time, neither of us realized that God was still quietly writing our story behind the scenes. The beginning of the beautiful story we are blessed to witness today. OUR JOURNEY: HER PERSPECTIVE **God made everything beautiful in his time (Eccl 3:11)** Our very first encounter was, of course, over groceries. We spent the drive talking about Ohio State, life in Columbus, and adjusting to life away from home. Just two random strangers bonding over school and life. We met again at the IFI Celebration of Nations, and I still remember seeing him and immediately hugging him. It felt strangely familiar, like reconnecting with someone I had known for a long time. From there, our conversations turned into research help, late-night chats, encouragement, jokes, prayers, and our infamous HARDCORE messages "lol". The more I got to know Seth, the more I admired his kindness, honesty, calm spirit, intentionality, and love for God. Somewhere between the conversations, prayers, late-night chats, laughter, and countless moments together, I remember randomly telling my roommate, “I think I really do love this man." Fast forward: he bought a pack of rings and jewels and gave them to me. Somehow, without even realizing it, our conversations slowly shifted toward marriage, family, and the future. This was his quirky way of proposing marriage and a future with him :). My favorite part of our relationship has always been the HARDCORE messages we shared daily and still share on birthdays and special occasions. Funny enough, the way I saved Seth's name on my phone somehow depicts our journey over time, from Vanessa's friend to Seth, Kwame, Odogu, Annoying, Adarkwah, and now Milele Wangu, my forever in Swahili. Looking back now, it amazes me how such a simple moment became one of the most beautiful parts of our lives. OUR JOURNEY: HIS PERSPECTIVE **Let all that you do be done in love (1 Cor 16:14)** From the moment we reconnected at the IFI Celebration of Nations, something felt different. Talking to Abigail felt natural, effortless, and genuine. Helping her with research quickly became the part of my day that I looked forward to the most. As we spent more time together, I began to admire her heart, intelligence, humility, resilience, and love for God. I appreciated how caring and thoughtful she was and how naturally she made me feel lighter, more peaceful, and more at home. I fell in love with Abigail, and she reciprocated the love. One thing that stood out to me early on was the strong foundation of friendship we built. Before our love journey, there was God, trust, comfort, prayer, laughter, and genuine companionship. Somewhere along the journey, friendship quietly blossomed into love. So, on my birthday, I made the easiest and best decision of my life: I asked Abigail to be my girlfriend and to walk the path of marriage with me. She knew I knew her answer anyways, months later, she said yes, and our story entered a beautiful new chapter. Today, I am grateful for every conversation, every reconnection, every prayer, and every step that led us here. A simple WhatsApp message became a beautiful journey rooted in friendship, faith, intentionality, and love. We are excited to begin this next chapter together and are so thankful to celebrate this love story with all of you.
